For this blog post I read, A Fable for the Living (Kevin Brockmeier) A Letter to my Author-self
I think the theme of, A Fable for the Living, would be that love never dies, and how love can be so strong it can make a change. The lady and her husband had so much love for each that their love helped bring people in their town back to their loved ones. In my letter I want to be able to work so hard that my work will inspire others to want to improve their writing as well. I also hope my love for writing grows and I start feeling more accomplished after each piece. Dear Erin, Hey what's up homie, This is your author-self speaking, I’m basically the key to your lock. The lock is your brain and me, the key will be unlocking it so your able to write your thoughts and ideas down for your English Composition I class… Anyways, I’m sorry for not always being the best writer, I tend to spell a lot of things wrong and I know how annoying that can get. I will definitely try harder to master that skill… I also spend to much time on a project just so I can get it done, when I should really just take my time and give you a break! I know your doing a lot of thinking and that can really wear you out. I understand how you feel author-self, I know writing can take a lot out of you. I wish you didn't have to go through this, but it's what we have to do to improve us! I know we both want to improve and do well… right? But hey, its okay to want to give up at times… It’s okay to want to throw your head into your pillow and cry or scream or do whatever you wanna do to let it all out! Those are the moments that inspire you to get back up and keep going. Once you realize that you can pick yourself up from that lowest point… You will know that your always going to be able to keep going even when you go through all that! In order for me to keep in touch with my author-self throughout this semester, I feel like I will need a plan. First off every time I feel like giving up, I will check in with my author-self, tell her to keep going because you both want to do well. Second, If I feel like I’m improving with my writing, I will give my author-self a pat on the back! Lastly, Whenever I’m writing I will think about my author-self and how I’m not alone writing any paper… I always got my author-self by my side...My key to my lock… Sincerely, Erin

I appreciate how the tone and style of this letter allows us to get a sense of your author-self voice and how these two selves would talk to each other. I also appreciate the positive language here: acknowledging the pains and disruptions of writing and also allowing space for the victories that come with completing a written text.

I can relate to your relationship with your author self because I have the same kind of relationship with mine.
